I know you a number of you are working on your Drumtastic challenge. I have some that are shared and not finished and I have some pinned on my wall that were completed using the worksheet. Here's some of the incomplete and completed presentations that have been shared.

Today to celebrate the end of Music Month PBS took part in the Hookline and singalong day. We sang Islands as a whole school. A group of students helped us with the sign language and played ukulele. A great effort by you all especially the sign language and ukulele group I know you worked really hard.

We have been lucky enough to have some of our students gain scholarships to learn musical instruments. John began at the beginning of the year learning guitar and Jane, June, Jessie and Pote are learning the clarinet. Their lessons take place at Tamaki Primary School on Saturday mornings.
Jane, June and Jessie bought their clarinets along to school today to show what they have learnt in their first two lessons.

Thursday lunchtimes are for members of the choir to come and work on harmony and soloist parts. Juanita has been practising the soloist parts for Juanita. Good luck Juanita for the up and coming soloist auditions.
I will also be available on Tuesdays at lunchtime for soloist rehearsals. This is really important to come when you came as Jam Bus is only a few weeks away and I hope to have the soloists debuting for this!

Room 4 have been busy working on their homemade instruments. They have made different types of shakers, drums and tapping instruments. Riley used paper tower tubes and screwed up easter egg wrappers to make her shaker. Tanisha used some tins to make drums.

This term the school wide topic is on the Environment. In music we are reflecting this by reusing containers and other objects and turning them into musical instruments. Have a look at home at anything you could use to make music with and bring it in to school. You can be as imaginative as you want. Check out some of the ideas below.

I'm on the lookout for ice cream containers. If you have any clean and empty containers at home I would love it if you could bring them in to me. I need the lids too.
