Juniors
Room 1 created their own landscape painting that had four geographical features in it using air pathways. They then made body shapes of those features. They shared their shapes with a partner through mirroring.

Seniors
This week we have looked at a painting called "The day the Treaty of Waitangi was signed". Individually we created a dance signature. In groups we recreated the landscape. We had some help from some room 5 students, thanks heaps. Look at the videos of what we created.

Performance Groups
At ukulele today we split into two groups. The Challenge Group and The Newbies. The Challenge Group are learning "The Anzac Anthem" there are some really hard chords including bar chords. The Newbies were learning the chords for Spanish Romance.

Juniors
Today room 2 had to complete a dance assessment. Their task was to create moving landscape sequence using shapes for geographical features in their landscape. They taught a partner using mirroring.

Seniors
This week we are completing our songs and adding ukulele chords. A number of groups are now practising. Listen to a little piece of Mere and Shaylah's song.

Juniors
The Juniors are creating dance based on New Zealand landscapes. We talked about what we would find in a landscape and what colours we would find in the landscapes. We are using paint brushes to imagine painting our favourite landscapes.

This week all classes have started Dance. We are using a variety of New Zealand landscapes to inspire our dance.

Performance Groups
Rock Band is well underway with practising. Our first song is "Best Day of My Life". Our musicians are: singers - Jharda'e, Shalay, June and Latham; keyboard players - Angari, Patrick and Jasmine as back up; ukulele players - Yvette, Fine with Tim and Jane as back up; Drummer - Samantha with Taikehu as back up; Guitar players - John and Shantay (Shantay on bass).

Here are rooms 7 and 9's song compositions. They are working on their chord progressions. Room 7 will be using C C7 and F. While room 9's chords will be C Am Em G C.

Ma'ata from room 9 is the last person to take one of the Deloittes ukuleles home. Remember they are due back on the 30 March. Don't forget there are four Deloittes ukuleles to borrow overnight too.
